Just some things to think about...

Item 1

Why is it, when someone from a different religion suffers, we cite it as proof that they are on the wrong path and need to convert. But, when someone from our own religion suffers, they are enduring a test of faith or in need of protection or help against "evil."

What's more, in many cases, you can flip this view between religions (in other words, both sides see outside suffering as evidence of poor spiritual practice and inside suffering as tests of faith).

Item 2

Why is it that so many assume the dominant or majority view is the right or correct one? If that were true, wouldn't the world really be flat and the sun still revolve around the earth? Likewise, why do some of us seem to assume the same about he who speaks loudest and most often. Shouldn't it be what we say and not how often and loudly we say it?

Item 3

Are we really beginning to breed out intelligence? Many sources show that more and higher education often correlates with less offspring. Often times through awareness of over-population.

Item 4

Why do we even ask the question about whether a tree falling in an empty forest makes a sound? Isn't it rather species-centric of us to ask that? A forest would never truly be empty, there's always going to be another tree or some insect or animal to absorb the sound waves and they'll react to it. Just because we're not there to hear it, does not mean it cannot be heard any more than not seeing germs means they aren't really there regardless.
