Just a feather who yearns to fly in the wind...

The "thing" by my mouth is called an ocarina, or a clay flute (and yes, I can play it, but so far only one complete song, learned by ear--"Toki no Kioku" or, translated, "Memory of Time"

Anyway, as the title suggests, I am very much an air elemental. I would give anything to go on one of the adventures I read about only in fantasy adventure novels (be careful what you ask for? Never!), of course, I'd want to come back to my son when I'm done, or maybe even take him with me, after all, it's a story and a fantasy so he's guaranteed to live ^,~ I would love to at least go on many journeys though, explore and visit lots of different places (the farthest I've ever been--physically--is the Gulf of Mexico down in Louisiana, from there it goes to Joplin, Missouri, and from there, I frequently take trips only a couple hours from home, maybe four (by car). This is, of course, not counting my recent move to New York state from Illinois, driving acrossed several other states ^,~

However, journeying around this world is not quite what I want, but it's the best I can do physically (can't reeeally go into a fantasy adventure novel). Soooooo~that's one of the biggest reasons I write, it gets me one step closer to what I want than reading them (which I do just as often).

There you have it, no matter what main job I might hold currently, I am a WRITER! ^_^ Yay! Sorry, in a hyper weird mood today. No matter how thick the day-to-day life gets, I try to make it a point to write everyday (Although I've suffered a lapse from the holidays, I'm recovering my prior determination), about anything. I even submit stuff! Not much yet, but a lot of my pieces are still in the revision process, I only have a few that are marketable. I'm also a mother ^_^ Eh, I've labeled myself so many things ^^"

My biggest lable? I am a walking oxymoron ^____________^
1. I do what I want, usually, and don't care about boundaries, limits, or "rules" (including societal popularity rules) unless it is beneficial for me to do so for me or my son. I am not ashamed of being a little eccentric or weird. However, I feel that I am very empathic, and therefore I am always taking into consideration the position of everyone, no matter how much I dislike them and will go out of my way to put someone I care about before myself, especially if it only causes myself minor discomfort.

2. I am very much a hermit-type person but I love to get out and, under normal circumstances, I love dealing with and learning about people, from all walks of life, both first hand and by observation.

3. I am secretly selfish and yet very giving and not because I want to put up a false front.

4. I absolutely love change, monotony is an indication that you're about to get into a rut and something in your life needs to change before your mind goes numb--but at the same time, I dislike it for the bad of the change that seems to always come before the benefits

5. I don't care what people think, but I care what they are thinking

I guess that's enough for now lol.

Lastly, I am an ecclectic spiritualist, which is the only part of my life I keep secret from my family. I love my family and it will profit no one for them to find out I'm not Christian. BUT I don't pretend either, I'll find ways to talk about it without giving myself away or betraying what I currently believe. What is an ecclectic spiritualist. Well, it's a label I gave myself. I don't believe in religion because I think the spirit is a very important thing and it can seriously die and rot away when it is not allowed to be free to follow its instincts, do what feels right for the individual spirit and not what someone dictated beforehand. I do use facts to back up what I believe, to prove it to myself, and nothing stays the same forever, my opinions will change as they become more informed--that's the ecclectic part. I am not uncomfortable with any religions unless their followers are oppressing and denying the merit and value of others. A friendly challenge is fine though, it's good work to have to come up with reasons for spiritual beliefs, or any beliefs for that matter ^_^

Lastly, I am an optimist under most circumstances, but I think not in a sickening way, I just have a tendency toward it, and I over-explain EVERYTHING. What, you could tell that already?

For the small facts, here they are:
Hair color--light brown
Eye color--blue
Skin--pasty and happy that way, my skin doesn't appreciate tans or burns

Personal Quote--If you can't do something right, PRACTICE! (my personal change on the if you can't do something right, don't do it at all)
Disposition--The glass is half full, but it's okay, I stole Delos' other half *huge grin* So now it's full again (sorry, couldn't resist the inside joke)
Pets--One black, female cat named Yin (the daughter/niece of the twins I had to give away--incidentally both pure white--Luna and Snuggles--I didn't name Snuggles). And the new additions, a very fluffy striped calico of mostly blonde coloring (barely any white), Furball, her white-based calico sister, Callie, and their mother, a non-fluffy striped calico (of similar coloring to Furball), Donna (short for Prima Donna)--all of which are significantly older than Yin (Donna is about 14 years old).
Child--Michael Anthony(his father named him, I got to choose if he'd been a girl--and that would have been Dea Nisara Kitsune)
Job--Besides being an unpaid freelance writer (but still working at it) I am a mother, housekeeper who is indecisive on how to bring in extra money without having it immediately taken out in childcare charges or splitting up our new family too much.

Okay, done over-explaining now ^_^

(like anyone's going to read this whole thing--but hey, at least I didn't thonk you over the head with a 100 things about me list ^_~)

...that probably would have been quicker...

1. I'm a nature lover

2. I could seriously live alone in a cabin, in the woods, cut off from all worry about where my technology is coming from but having it anyway without having to pay for it, deep in the woods where I can sing to the forest and not get odd looks from other park-goers

3. I've never tried illegal drugs, caffeine is as bad as I've ever gone (well, and one cigarette, but I was 7 and I threw it down immediately)

4. I collect rocks (not just any rocks mind you) and shells.

5. Jodan! I'm only kidding ^,~

Why would you think I'd go ahead and do a 100 things about me list anyway? *looks innocent*

Oh, and I'm also a linguistics major ^_^

Ja ne!
