Sometimes waitressing is good!

Tonight would be one of those rare gem of a nights where I come home tired but happy. Tonight is one of those nights where it pays to be a waitress at a restaurant that borders on fast food in the consumer's eye. I made a whopping $13/hour. $13/hour!!!! Yay me!!

I was there a little over 8 hours and I made a little over $80. I actually stopped taking tables for the last 2 hours I was there and went back to get all the dishes done for the people on line. I just got off, I stayed though I didn't have to for them. 3 of their 3rd shift workers didn't come in (that's out of 4). I was supposed to get off at midnight. I got off at 3:20am (I went in at 6pm). I made good tips, and got many compliments from my tables (no comment cards of course, but plenty of compliments).

A tip for those of you who go to a restaurant and are impressed with your server: Please fill out a comment card. Compliments are always really really nice, by all means at least compliment if you were happy. Comment cards though provide the solid evidence that your waitress was worthy of complimenting. It doesn't work for us to tell the head boss we got this and that compliment, they're only interested in the solid feedback. You never know if your outstanding server is in trouble with the boss for something like mystery shoppers giving him/her a bad rating. Or, in my case, the server does nothing but blunder when the head boss is around so that said boss begins to think that they shouldn't be a server anymore. Those comment cards really can help us.

Thanks to all the cool people who left me outstanding tips tonight! Boy...that sounds a bit um...dorky huh? Hehehe.
