Moving along
Aug 28, 2003
Well, now two weeks into school. It's been great so far, I enjoy being back, even if I am a week behind in both of my online classes for various silly reasons. Not too much going on otherwise. I've joined www.bookcrossing.com and have released about 20 books, many more registered that just aren't finished in preparation yet. I think it's a great way to promote reading, to spread the word on a good book. It also is a good way to boost sales for the dedicated reader. I've already released at least 5 books that I now intend to go buy new copies of for my collection. The site itself claims that from its experience, it is boosting sales from people who buy books simply to release them. I'd really like to buy the spanish version of Harry Potter to release, we've got a lot of spanish speakers in my area. However, that book is a whopping $25! In paperback! Not to mention that there is hardly a lick of art in it (if you don't count the cover there isn't any at all), the covers themselves, while they have a little art, are very plain and almost look more like text books *shakes her head* Why do they charge so much more for it? I could just imagine if it came in Hard Back. It'd probably be around $60.
I really have nothing else much to talk about. My son just got over a 24 hour bug of some kind. He had a 103 fever and was throwing up a lot--mostly because of his fever. He seems to be over it now anyway, the poor guy. Probably got it 'cause he loves to take off his diaper at night when he's put to bed, then he falls asleep, and ends up peeing all over his bed making him wet and the fans are blowing (2 1/2 fans because it gets very hot in our room upstairs) and his father and I are sleeping...you get the picture. We've taken to duct taping (sp?) his diaper to him at night.
