Destiny
Sep 29, 2003

A Reeeeeeally long entry, but also revealing if you know what to look at ^_~
I recently asked my Faery/wicca tarot deck what my destiny was. Here was its reply in extended celtic spread layout.

1. Situation: Grainné; Ainnir of Aer (reversed), (represents people/other realm links, possible insight into my current energy state or perhaps representative of an energy blockage or a desire not ready to manifest that needs immediate attention) Ruled by Ohn, Water of Air; thinking with the heart; emotional energy in balance; inspiration and clarity of feeling; in the dawning of autumn; young female between birth-30 years; ability to know what one desires; cunning intellect; clear communication; ready to take action, but willing to reamin still if need be; of a royal nature. Payment of bonds: Be careful what you vow yourself to when OtherWorld vows are collected, they must be upheld.

2. Energy I bring into the situation: Conchobar; Ard Rí of Domhan, Ruled by Coll. Fire of Earth; Ego and Spirit in union; the masculine force in life married to the feminine force in life; polarity; the quieting light; mature male between 30 years-death; Spirit made manifest; truthful authority in balance; provider; defender of Mother Earth-- no compromise
The magick of the Faery World dances in the bonfire of the commander's camp, giving life to the doorway into alternate realms of existence; join forces with spirit.

3. Strength and Foundation: 18--Old Witch Moon Hill (reversed), The dark night of soul is upon you. Time to reevaluate your inner-most beliefs and come to terms with those that no longer resonate for you. In doing so, you find your inner light, a soft, gentle light not unlike that of the full moon light. The primeval witch is resurfacing. Awaken to ancient memories. Discover the mystery that is you (Challenge warning? Insight into current energy state possibly and energy blockage that needs immediate attention).

4. The Unexpected: Ace of Aer (May come about in Spring), Raw power of the mind. Freedom from restraint, salvation. Cut through the veils of ignorance--the 1st step is setting the right attitude. What you think you know now will be different at the end of the journey; keep an open mind. Constructive or destructive powers, depending on how the info is used. Fate.
Come into the spiral.
Don't be afraid of the POWER
Don't be afraid to enter the spiral
that leads to the Sword of Illumination.
Feel with the mind.
That's the only way to progress.

What could/will be: Seven of Domhan, Blocked Door. Inertia, alienation, lost opportunities, laziness. A new vision is required to overcome such deep-seated blockages. Natural abundance is around you, but you fail to see it and recognize how valuable it can be. Beware.
The way is barred--
think twice, three times,
as many times as is needed before
continuing forward
to heed the messages being given you
from the OtherWorld.
Warning of danger echo around you.

6. Element of Change (Replacing 5): Ace of Tine (May come about in summer), The raw power of personal power. The fiery dragon of sexual desire (i.e. the "sacred fire"). Aspirations, contests, enlightenment. Constructive power or the power to oppress and destroy. The power to control significant or even fearful forces. The gut reaction.
The courage to feel the fire
is felt in the stomach--
The seat of will power and
The house of all desire.
Power is both gentle and forceful.

7. How Other people relate/interact with me: 00--The Tree of Life, Come into the center of the sacred; stand tall and firm like a tree, with your roots solidly planted in Mother Earth's soil, and your branches aspiring to new heights. Prepare to align with the primal land by orienting yourself to the cardinal directions, become the power of the provinces; move forward into the Plains (the faery side of this world). The symbology of the tree and mountain connects to the 3 realms of faery (Heaven, Plains, Underworld).

8. How I relate/interact with others: The Holy Stone (a faery gift card), Perception--The Apprentices. Connected to the now, the Faery-Faith, and the Faery allies. If the Holy Stone card is pulled, your journey will begin your apprenticeship in our (faery) world. Fetch: The Spiritual Benefactor. Aligned to the Faery city of Falias and the Lia Fail. Faery Allies. Earth Faery Ally. Related OtherWorld beings found in the city: Faery Ally will help one understand symbols, codes, or puzzles that may be encountered when travelling in the OtherWorld. If you are to attain greatness, you must learn to speak to the Ancient Ones with poetic measure. Find the beauty in all that you see. Poetic art is in a person's body, for it is in their soul, and the soul is in the body.

9. Element needing shifted (in relations): Two of Tine (reversed), How will you use your power? The energy of this card is the creative principle of the universe, which implies that a partnership is at hand--sun-moon, male-female, thought-action--one that is a combination of different individual capacities. Alliance is necessary. An acceptance of other is required.
How do you wield your POWER?
Forcefully or gently?
Where is your balance found
in the world of ego?

(Desire not ready to manifest?)

Probable future working with tarot message: 20--The Judgement (reversed), A grain of wheat is reaped in silence. The teacher gives knowledge; the student, through meditation receives what is given, and by inner understanding transmutes knowledge into wisdom. What was true is forever the truth, but knowledge manifests in different ways in the course of cycles. Look into the past and y ou will know the future, for the future lies buried in the past. The past through action in the present, brings about the future. (Event of Choice?) Could signify the possibility of an event giving me a choice: whether to strive to make the event happen, or make necessary changes to avoid it.

11. Summarize the Situation: Five of Aer, All that Glitters is not Gold. Self-abasement, passive endurance, forcible swallowing of pride. Even in the face of death, which arrives in its appointed hour for every living creature, virtue lies in patient endurance and passive courage. Don't fight a no-win battle.
Staying fixed in the first attention,
staying too focused on the big ME
can blind you faster than the mists.
ME is not and never will be the center,
for it creates self-importance--
an illusive golden image--
a barbarous point of view.

12. Summarize the Situation: Three of Tine, The Dance of Partnership. Destiny unfolding. Powers of creation, invention, commercial enterprises, and grand fortune.
The power of courage
is only the first step in the dance--
The second step
is dancing ego to spirit--
This is a very hard step indeed,
for it takes action of the heart
to achieve success.

13. Summarize the Situation: 3--The Mother Goddess, the wisdom of the feminine principle in life is at work in your life. Open to the fertility of the land and find abundance in your life. Allow creativity to flow through you. A call to return to nature. In quiet meditation, open to the stars above your head to receive the wisdom of Goddess. Align with your inner child and find bliss.

14. Confirming 10 (Final Outcome): The Crane Bag (A Faery Gift Card), Perception--The area of Willing. Connected to the Ulster cycle, the Warrior Clans and Heroic Faery. If the Crane Bag card is pulled your journey will take you into the Plains. Fetch--Strength Faery Allies--Fire faery ally Faery City--Findias, Gae Bulga Being found there--Faery Companion will help one move between elemental realms, as well as help the OtherWorld traveller overcome any sense of loneliness encountered during a journey. Meaning--There is great protection being offered you from the Hag of the Temple. To receive this protection you must first willingly shapechange or metamorphose any ill-natured behavior within yourself, recognizing that self is not always the center of attention, or the center of teh universe for that matter. Life does not always revolve around you and you must curb your desire in thinking it does. A code of ethics is being taught and true magick is the result.

Notes: A pretty good reading all in all. The inner notes in italics are things I thought most relevant, though there are many things unitalicized that are still relevant to me. The poem like looking structures are italicized because they are faery poems written for the card by the author of the tarot deck.
All of the meanings/definitions and poems are property of Kisma K. Stepanich, the creator of the Faery-Wicca Tarot Deck.

I'd also like to make a passing note that the references to being self-absorbed are true but not in such a blunt way. Most people who know me, don't see me as being self-absorbed, I don't think I am self absorbed either. However, in my personal fantasies, I like to make believe that I am important, that I have some hidden potential waiting to be reawakened that is greater than anything seen. I'd like to think I'm that important, and I really must admit that if I got any sort of power, I'd need to swallow that proud part of myself and remember that power or no power, we are all one, and none is above the other.
