The Miracle
May 4, 2004
Or is it (ok, that's my pessimistic side lol)? My brother got a letter a while back saying that he was to appear at court today (May 4th) he asked what it meant and was told that it meant he no longer had a public defender. Which means he has a lawyer I think. Hopefully the people he asked weren't wrong and the appearance is for something else. Otherwise we are all getting our hopes up for nothing. However, the way my rich aunt talks and hints, it is quite likely her and her husband came through. My aunt, while fake, can be surprisingly true and down-to-earth when she's not putting on her public face (in other words when you are alone with her versus when there is a crowd she must act for). She has hinted at having a hand in it, but she doesn't want anyone to know because her and her husband (one of the hints) prayed about the issue and talked together about it and they decided that if they decided to help, they weren't going to tell anyone because they wanted God to have all the glory. Believe me, even if the money has no explainable source, this is still a miracle as it is coming from an aunt who has shown the rest of us no authentic support/love/caring, or at least any authentic part to it is buried in oozing fakeness. Let me take that back then, I think she cares for us all and truly does love us, but the woman covers it up in so much ushy-gushyness that you could never have guessed it. I feel kind of sorry for her actually and often find myself wondering what actually goes on in her head, how she really feels and whether or not she knows she could be just as close to the rest of us if she'd just drop the facade so we could all see the true self she shows more of in isolated conversations (just one person and her instead of a group).
At any rate, at 11:30 my mom will find out precisely what the letter was all about and soon after I will write another entry here to keep you up to date.
