Moving along

More moving news ^_^
I'm practically all moved now, I got some things still at my mom's but most of it's here and unpacked already. So far so good, I like it here, it's amazing how much of a difference you feel attitude wise when you move from an essentially dirty (not messy, but dirty because it was in need of repairs with the floor and ceilings and such with leaks, nasty flooring under the torn out carpets--we had to tear them out because they were nasty and reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally stunk--with regular boards just thrown on top so that Michael would stop getting splinters) to a really clean place with the only problem I'm currently having being the stove (it appears that the right side burners do not work--something we'll have to get taken care of by apt. maintenance because the right side is the side with the big burner, the others are like half a foot wide in diameter or less, I think they are less than 6" in diameter actually, maybe about 4?
The lady who was going to buy my mom's house backed out (quite rudely actually, my mom had to call her like 6 times asking her what's going on before her fiance answered and decided to tell her they weren't getting the house). My mom had told them earlier to let her know asap if they decided to back out and not to worry about making her mad if they decided they didn't want it she just needed to know asap because she needed to know what was going on and she wanted to be out by the end of the month, and they weren't giving her very much time to look for a new place doing this because now she can't take the place she was going to. Despite all of this, my mom has just found a new buyer who is buying on contract with $1000 down and is going to pay for all the bills and let her stay there until she can raise the rest to move. Jason. Yep, the ex is going to buy my mom's house.
A lot of people think that would be a bad idea or sneaky, but Jason and I are still friends and we do have a son together, and it is a way for me to still have the garden I spent over $50 on and Jason said I could keep storing my stuff there too so I won't have to rent a storage unit. It works out pretty great. Jason needs a place, I don't want to lose my garden, Jason just got a job that will make it fairly easy to buy my mom's house on contract, and he is a 2nd degree black belt, making himself a harder target for any of my brother's enemies, among other things.
He has 400 in IRS account of some type where he put back 200 a year for two years so far from his tax return that he can cash in and he also has about $600 in stocks with Steak-n-Shake. He is soon going to be making about $1000 a pay check (a little more actually), and counting child support and groceries, he only has to spend $800 of that a paycheck (every two weeks).
At any rate, with that much I'll get about $400/mo for child support, that's some much needed money! I can actually buy good food with that some new clothes for michael spoil him with a few books and I'll probably put a portion of that in his savings account every check. I'm thinking 20% lol (20% is how much of Jason's checks I get for child support), anyway, that would be about $80/mo for Michael. Wow, that's pretty decent o.O I'll also get his life insurance with gerber reinstated (with gerber, once he turns a certain age--I can't remember if it is 18 or 21, he can collect all of the money put into the program thus far which is over $20 or he can keep that life insurance on himself for his family without ever having an increase in the premium (in other words no matter how old and unhealthy he may get in the future, he will always only have to pay $10/mo for $100,000 worth of life insurance. I think I might put him back in dance too if he wants to go (we stopped taking him because we couldn't afford it anymore). I want to spend as much of the child support on just him as I can, of course the bills count too, but I'm going to only add up half of all the bills to take from the child support, the rest should go to Michael in one form or another, I'll probably open up another savings account for a car and save a portion of the child support towards that, that way when I get my tax return, I'll have that much less money of it to spend on a car and that much more to spend from my tax return, getting myself out of debt. I may save a small percentage of it toward an overseas trip too. Nicki (my cousin) and I are talking about going overseas in a couple of years, whether it's with her or not, I would like to make going to Thailand in a couple of years a personal goal, and I want to take Michael with me so he can have the experience, I think it would be a wonderful experience for a four year old, and a very memorable one (yes, he's two right now)! And he'd finally get to meet his Mommy's best friend.
Anyway, those are all what I hope to get done with this situation. I think I'm happy Jason is buying my mom's house. I worked so hard on my garden and it's nice to see it go to someone I know will always be in my life, and therefore so will the only house my mom ever once owned, even if it wasn't for long enough to call it a sentimental home that I love 'cause I grew up in it ('cause I didn't)
Well, I'm off to go do a bunch of crits for DII while the little one's asleep, I think I'll go beat Soul Caliber II Arcade mode with the new character I unlocked earlier today--my favourite character from Soul Caliber--Seung Mina.
Ja ne!
