My first entry in Karaoke. Yay! As I say on my other pages, this one is for any fanfics I decide to write ^-^ I'm sure you can see the connection between that and karaoke. If you can't, put simply, karaoke is singing someone else's song in your own voice, your own inflections, with little help from them besides the basic composition. If you haven't noticed, I have a music theme going on with my various website pages, so I thought this fit perfectly for my fanfic page. A fanfic is a piece of fiction based off of someone else's idea or someone else's world. I will be doing a variety of these here, book, tv shows, movies, Japanese Animation, you will eventually find fanfics of these kinds and perhaps many more still on this page. Now, I call it Discovering the Mystery of Writing, and relate the "Entangled, Mysteries of the Deep" with some advice I got some time ago that opened my eyes to something I hadn't realized. It's OK to copy (so long as you don't go selling it or anything like that), it's ok to do the same old thing. So, you'll never be able to sell it, you may not even be able to show it to anyone else for whatever reasons, but copying helps you learn. This last bit of that advice is what made me realize this advice is sound (at least for me)--We all learn through mimicry, as babies we copy the facial expressions and sounds of those around us, not meaning them at first, perhaps not even knowing anything of what we are doing, but as we grow we learn to do it all on our own through constant mimicry until we get the concept. Therefore, by writing these fanfics, I am hoping that it will help me get a better grasp on my own writing ability. Also, you could relate mysteries of the deep to lost items unknown in the sea theme of this page and relate those to lost stories to ones already told--therefore, they are the mysteries of the deep ^-^ Lastly, I want to make sure you do not misunderstand fanfics. The idea is not to take the same story and just rephrase it like you might do for a research paper, the idea is to create your own story based off another person's world or characters, or both. From time to time, preferably right after I post each fanfic I write, I will also post another entry to share the page with the fanfic that describes the background of the world or characters that you might need to understand the story and where it all is coming from--such descriptions will also have disclaimers attached to them along with the original creator of the things disclaimed. I believe I will be labelling these entries in such a way as to let you know which ones are background info and which ones are fanfics.
