Help the mud faeries find a home!

As a rule, Ash usually deals with whatever is left behind after a forest fire, turning pieces of burnt wood and ashes into new soil. But since fires are rare, he also works with dried out things, and, on occasion, dead stuff.

What is that word from? Where have I heard it before? This is another dream entry. A very weird dream...

It all started when I snuck through a long room with a door on either side. Like a widened hall, except that it was a room--my roommates room. I was hungry, and I figured they wouldn't miss a piece of stringed cheese from the bottom drawer. To my disappointment, they were out of the stringed mozzarella, but I satisfied myself with a piece of stringed cheddar. I took it out of the wrapper, and began to shred it when I heard Dawn, one of my roommates, coming into the room. I didn't want to get caught so I ran out the other door.

Dawn followed closely and I ducked into the next room and behind some kind of crummy, short, wooden gate in the middle of the floor. I peeked through the cracks between the planks of wood as she came around the corner.

"Hello? Who's there?" She held a bat at the ready. I gave it up when I saw her legs trembling. Before that, I was going to pop up and spook her, just a little, not trying very hard. An act to make it seem like it had been a practical joke all along.

I stood up. "It's just me Dawn." I was expecting her to lower the bat, look relieved. She had thought a burglar snuck into the house, someone dangerous, but it was only me. Only a piece of stringed cheese. Instead she dropped the bat and spat something at me in another tongue. She seemed to turn otherworldly, a sense of supernatural power grew about her, making her eyes seem to glow with electric charge, though they remained ordinary. "e sara et alsu Majhren!" She accused, pointing a finger at me.

I held up my hands in surrender. I was stunned over hearing her speak such a supernatural language, more stunned that her voice had held a magical reverberance to it. She continued to speak the other language, pointing at me, but after that first statement, her voice was normal.

"No, I didn't steal anything." I panicked. "I just took a piece of stringed cheese!" I pointed behind her by the wooden gate where I had left the disgarded cheese. Her gaze followed my finger, but she sneered as she looked back at me.

Again, she spoke to me in the supernatural language. The language of the Goddess, I knew now. And I also knew that she did not believe me. Something important, something Dawn was chosen to guard, had been stolen, and I was the most likely candidate. "If all you stole is cheese..." she said in the other language as she smirked with cruel mischief. Her face began to melt away, and I thought for sure she was transforming into the goddess to punish me for something I didn't do. Instead, she turned into a human rat combination.

It was like looking at a wererat (you know, a werewolf but instead of a wolf a rat). She commanded me to fight. I didn't and her teeth sank into my ear, which until that point, I hadn't realized was that of a rat as well. I hadn't even realized, until that point, that she had changed me into a wererat as well. She scraped my ear off to leave something that looked like a bloodied anime elf ear. As the other rat continued to fight me, I could still here her voice, in my head, commanding me to kill it, fight it, to prove myself. I resisted as long as I could, not wanting to hurt what I thought was still Dawn inside. Finally, Dawn's voice convinced me otherwise and I struck back at the other rat. As the fight continued, as my new transformation began to melt off, I was left with a body that looked like that of an elf from japanimation. I was proving myself innocent. Proving I was not a rat, but an elf.

I woke up. Jason stirred next to me, and I began to tell him about the dream. When I got to the part where she accused me of stealing, he said, "But perhaps you really did take the other thing? The person who was responsible, the person who wanted that chest, probably placed a spell on you to make you think you were stealing a piece of cheese instead of what they wanted you to take?" I looked at him quizzically, thinking of the tiny, hand-sized chest full of potatoe-chip looking pieces of beige wood in it, that Dawn had been holding just before she transformed. And then I woke up again.

**side note. I don't remember any of the foreign words except for majhren, I tried to mimick the sound of the language with the words I used in the first statement though. Now that, was a really weird dream! LOL
