And it is better than nothing. Actually, it's kinda fun. I don't feel like I do the writers justice, as I am not as good, but then writing fanfiction, I don't have to worry about writing something publishable. I can't really say that when I write my own stuff for practice because practice can sometimes turn into more than practice. With fanfiction, I'll never have to worry about that. I think it's a good way to loop myself back into writing. So, pretty soon be looking for the Karaoke section to get busy. I'm going to try to stay away from authors I know do not like fanfiction (like Mercedes Lackey--I love her worlds and all her books, but out of respect for her and her abilities, as well as her wishes, I will not write any fanficiton on it). I can understand why some people like fanfiction written about their works and I can also understand why some people don't want fans to write fanfics on their works. I do know that JK Rowling doens't mind fanfiction, and from what I hear, so long as the fans stay within reason, she actually thinks fanfiction is great--but then that part is just what I hear, nothing I'm sure about. Some fanfiction I may write when I can't find info one way or another about how an author feels, but I will take any entries down later if I find out they do not like or want fanfiction. Anyway, all of this will go up in my fanficiton disclaimer that I am going to try to post today and set up links directly on the main Karaoke page so I'll stop talking about that aspect here. So, now you have what I am currently working on (though I do occassionally dabble with Stalemate still, that story never leaves me alone always begs for me to get good enough to do it justice, to get it out there).

Currently, I am working on two fanfics. A Harry Potter fanfic in which I plan to stay away from the typical fanfic purpose--to do what I want to do with the main characters. I'd like instead to do this one from a Ravenclaw girl's pov that is in the same year as Harry. I want it to coincide in believability with what JK Rowling has already wrote, so mostly Kit, my main character, is going to stay out of Harry's way so it'll make sense why she was never mentioned in Harry's story. He will, of course have to be mentioned in hers because he's the boy who lived. I'm thinking though I'm going to make her mainly concerned with Hermione, not directly, just she's very jealous of the Gryffindor girl who beats all the Ravenclaws when it comes to grades. But she's an introverted shy person, so these will mostly be internal battles with herself or something. At any rate, there will be reference to the things, people, situations in Harry's story, but mostly I'm going to try to keep her to her own story so that it doesn't war with Harry's. For now it's going to be called "Kitsune Woodrose and the Path of Honor" (named after the title style JK Rowling has taken).

The other fanfic I'm working on is based on Rumiko Takahashi's Ranma 1/2. Unlike my dabblings in Rowling's world, I will be directly working with the characters in Ranma's world--there's just really no other way you can do a Ranma 1/2 fanfic lol. The title of this one is "Ranma 1/2 Amazon Annulment: Goodbye Ranma!" And it is basically about a new character of my creation causing trouble for the already overly twisted love multi-triangled situation going on. Somehow this mysterious character with mysterious motives causes enough confusion that Xian Pu puts Akane in a wheelchair (is it temporary?) and vows to kill Ranma in order to Annul their engagement. Could he do anymore damage? Unfortunately, I do not have the comedic talent of Takahashi-san, so my Ranma 1/2 fanfic will be a little on the serious side--but I'll try to put in as many funnies as possible!
