Just another update
March 30 ,2005
Still working at Stalemate, tiny bites will get me there a lot quicker than huge bites that go nowhere for many many many months ne? As of today, March 30th, the rough draft is 20,040 words! Yay! And it is still going! *bounces* If you have read the entry on intimacy I just wrote titled "Gigiduru" you might think I'm a little bipolar. It's okay, I am a little crazy, but the irritation of that little fly did not do much to ruin such a beautiful day, it was quick to delete and probably took him/her at least five times the amount of time to write than it took me to delete them, even if I hadn't had Domynoe's help. Too bad for them they didn't realize that the comments section is not open to the general public so Domy and I were the only ones who saw their dumb links upon which time we promptly deleted all the posts they wasted their time on to begin with--over 500 comments with porno and other stupid links (and yes, all by the same person).
Anyhow, back to the update, I'm working also on another secondary work in progress, sticking to Stalemate pretty much daily but cycling back and forth between Kitsune Woodrose and the Path of Honor (a Harry Potter fanfic) and a newer novel idea without a title as of yet (based on my Amtguard/EverQuest character, Saronai).
I also took a walk just before work in the park nearby (near the college I work at that is), a creativity walk, thinking about my projects and their story lines. It was soooo very productive and got me in such a good mood ^0^ I should do that a LOT more often, in fact, I think I'm going to try and do it everyday I work, weather permitting, it will be very easy to, the city bus gets me to work half an hour early (if I don't want to be half an hour late anyway :/ ) so I'll just spend those moments walking around the park and thinking creatively. I might take longer walks on Tuesdays and Thursdays (I have more time between my classes and work on those days). Perhaps I may even do it Saturdays and Sundays, though it probably won't be as great since I don't live near the park. I rather don't like city settings, I'm more of a nature gal. The park is in the city but at least it has a good amount of trees, plants, grass, and squirrels. The nearest nature preserve is a twenty minute drive from town, we have three, which is, from what I understand, a lot more than most cities have so close to them, but I don't have a car and the stupid buses don't go out by the preserves--they should though! *sigh* I miss trailing, I really need to find someone who likes to go trail-walking/adventuring just as much as I do and make it at least a weekly routine, go out there walking every Saturday or something. I love the forest T~T
Anywho~a park with trees is better than nothing and I've already written so much today as a result! I wrote 458 words on the newer story idea (which was the main focus of my thoughts, getting Saronai's story details down pat) and I've written 298 words in Stalemate (If you've forgotten, my daily goal is 250 words). I want to write more too! Maybe do a few exercises on the side, revise something when I get home. That walk and breath of fresh, warm, sunny air sure did me a lot of good.
In fact, if it were up to me I'd go do it again after I got off work and before I went home, but that wasn't in the plans and I need to leave when I'm picked up shortly and spend time with my son and do the mountain of homework I have waiting for me (which I also feel more ready to tackle than I have in weeks!)
Here's to better weather!
