 New Character Journals
November 7 ,2009

Dear Glitchy
This is a voice recorded journal by my human rogue engineer in wow, Renawyn, who was originally based off of an older, displaced version of Rikku from FFX. She was my first wow roleplaying character and was started back when I just wanted to roleplay and not spend hours reading dry crap on the insufficient lore website I knew of at the time.

Paper Sun
This is a journal written by Alasgida, a more serious character who has had a troubling past. Due to actions she has done in the past she has evolved from a neutral-good character (when she was very very young) to an neutral evil and is slowly finding her way back to a more neutral standing, though she does not believe she is good any more. She tends to be a bit mean, pushes people away that she cares for, or just plain apathetic, but in a cool, quiet way. Her typical expression is very indifferent. The character herself started out as a human rogue but there will also be a huntress version of her once the next expansion comes out.

Tavomansa Kani
This is a journal written from the perspective of my human warlock, Sharasvati, who is not actually a warlock, I just didn't want to repeat any classes when I created her. She is from a tribe I created myself which includes a language and culture that I have been working on extensively and plan to adapt into one of my original novel worlds. Tavomansa Kani is roughly translated as a sort of "complete lexicon." The journal itself is primarily going to be made up of Vati's records and notes from her various travels. While she is considered a sort of elemental priest/shaman amongst her people, primarily she is simply a traveling scholar, a field anthropologist and story collector of sorts. She tends to be highly scientifically minded (for the setting anyway) and is nuts about books.

Starfish
This is a journal from the perspective of my human mage, Nisnivani, who is also from the same tribe as Sharasvati. They are sisters and both are not exactly played to class. Both are considered more to be elemental priests of sorts. While Vati is more scientific, Nisnivani (whose name means star of water, or starfish, thus the title) is more withdrawn and traditional in their tribal customs and culture. This journal will mainly contain her numerous reflections on her experiences, which are rather often, she tends to spend a little too much time reflecting.

Silent Rain
While this might sound like a dreary title to some, and the character does have some pretty negative experiences in her story, it is actually meant to be hopeful. This is the journal of my night elven priestess, Lesara (Ta'elesara Ethala'Aman). Her last name is roughly translated as Silent Rain (though not officially). This character sees rain as a life-giving source and she has a quiet sort of presence, content to be in the background, silently providing support to her comrades and the life around her by the grace and gifts of her goddess, Elune.

Blood Filigree
This was actually the title of a story I am working on, first setting it in the world of wow and then rewriting it as a separate world that will hopefully bare little similarity to wow. As such, I originally created this journal to be from the perspective of my blood elf warlock, Sinthera. However, I am unhappy with this arrangement. First, I don't play horde-side often and I'm not overly attached to Sinthera. Plus, I'm having a hard time combining the idea of the main character in blood filigree with Sinthera. So, it is more likely that I will tweak this a bit to simply make it the journal of the main character from Blood Filigree, the story. Either way, this journal will be from the perspective of a "villainess" of sorts.

Forgotten Shadows
A journal written by my blood elf shadow priest, Caerwynn. This will likely be my darkest journal works since Caera is something of a fallen priestess of the light who has had a traumatic past and family history that finally broke her. Eventually, through the course of her story, she gets involved with a cult in WOW lore called The Forgotten Shadow (thus the name) that believes in the opposite of the holy light religion and is largely disorganized into several sects and what you could call mini-cults with the same beliefs. The Forgotten Shadow is primarily for free undead (those not controlled by the lich king) who have been denied the light they once had in life. It may be my most interesting display of story and character progression thus far.

Open Sky
This is the journal of my future worgen huntress, Lellian Sky. The surname is unlike me, but opensky.wordpress.com was not available, so I just put in lellian instead, then realized she didn't have a last name and said, why not? So, her last name is sky to add extra reason to the name of the journal. Anyway, worgens are basically werewolves that will be available to play when the next expansion comes out. I can't wait, so I'm getting the jump on my worgen now and writing her journal based on what I know currently: That the worgen players will be a kingdom of humans that, to escape the rampant worgen plague as well as the scourge in their area, closed themselves up behind a wall where the worgen plague got to them anyway and eventually claimed everyone behind the wall who could not escape. Open sky started as the title because I wanted to moon design for my worgen and I figure a huntress trapped behind a wall for so long with a werewolf infection would probably long for the sort of freedom that she can only see when she looks up at...the open sky hehe.

 Saying Goodbye to Solos?
November 7 ,2009

I've recently been building journals for characters in wow and have begun to think these things are pretty nifty and they help me organize character thoughts better. For now, I've only made journals for my gaming characters and haven't really created any entries. Regardless, I am having a lot of fun with it, particularly in giving each character a somewhat unique page. So...it's entirely possible that maybe the solos page here will become obsolete. I mean, I should honestly face the truth about how often I update all of these various pages. I think I would write more with these cute little unique journals for all the characters I engage in this practice with. I also don't really want to keep pages on my main site (musesings) that I don't update very often, which is pretty much all of them right now. One less "official" musesings site is probably a good thing.

There is also the thing that I've fallen completely out of love with the decorative theme for karaoke and solos. In fact, I know when I do finally have the cash to update the look of my entire website, all of my current pages except for Chorus will be altered. I also think I might join Chorus with Intimacy and rename Intimacy to Unplugged (to better match the music theme going on here). Of course, I want to change the look of intimacy too.

Anyway, I wanted to update Muse Sings to make it seem less dead and couldn't really think of anything except this update, particularly since my fingers are itching to type entries into one of my new character journals.

I think I'm liking the idea of a separate journal for each character I write for. Although, I think I might nix the Blood Filigree journal or maybe get rid of its connection to the wow toon and make it the journal for the main character in the story I'm working on. That sounds like a better idea, actually. I think I'll go about editing to change that. Soon I'll be adding a few LOTRO journals to the list and definitely journals for my original fiction characters as well. For now, here's the journals I've already created for various wow characters:

And there you have it! Only a few actually have entries right now, but I hope to slowly change that. Also, if you don't play world of warcraft, but you like my writing, I hope you will check out these journals from time to time anyway. I do not really plan to write them in a way that only wow players will enjoy them. In fact, many of these characters are planned for revamping to play parts in my original stories later.

For now, I want to go write something in one of them.

Later!
