This page is about the various characters that have journal entries on this part of my site. Some of the characters with entries may not appear here though, simply because they have a full profile of their own already up on this page and a link should be provided at the end of their entry to that profile. Kyla: Kyla is the main character of one of my more difficult novels in progress that is under the working title "Kyla." The story is about a young woman whose celtic tribe is attacked by a nation whose main religion is based on christian themes. The horror of the attack on her people, and the unnecessary violence that followed (and all this at age 5), caused Kyla to develop dissociative identity disorder. That, combined with her great (and largerly unknown) powers of the mind (telepathy, telekinesis, as well as some lesser known types of mind powers) make her a very dangerous person. She is chained away from the village as a demon possessed soul. Eventually, she exchanges her body with that of a lesser goddess (goddess limited to only a few worshippers or acknowledgers) who wishes to live a mortal life--from then on she becomes immortal and struggles through an immortal life with the curse of DID (formerly known as Multiple Personalities). Dragonfly: Dragonfly is the main character from my YA wip: Ethereal Dragonfly. She's a young girl in her early teens who ends up having a close encounter with death that changes her life in ways most wouldn't expect. Having watched her mother die slowly and painfully, she has a very large fear of death. Akasha/Wynaré: A High Elf of Taerion. She was raised human and carries many secrets behind her magical disguise of humanness. Little does she realize that her real father has a hand in her life, a Godly hand attempting to shape her into the new Goddess of Nature, to bring balance once more to the planet Taerion. Her race is long lived, but she has a tendency to live like a human (in a rush), this can bring trouble when, furthermore, it is realized that due to her demigoddess status (from her father's side), she is immortal. I am debating on changing her name to Wynaré but I haven't decided. Alexandre Delaney: An 18-year-old noble who grew up with Wynaré. His family took her in after her foster father died and she became the House Spinner (minstrel/bard) in place of her father. Alex grew up to love Wynaré and doesn't realize that she isn't human. That is, until he rescues her from death (for having evil powers and helping evil beings--Kei) at the hands of their hometown and leaves on an adventure with her to help Kei gain vengeance for his people's massacre, during which he sees her without a glamour on. He is an intellectual with a keen fascination w/magic and legend (which was a highly eccentric, foolish, and frowned upon course of study in his home town). He is very smart and will use his wits before force. He is about 5'8 with shoulder-length brown hair and a lean (but not scrawny) build. Think Orlando Bloom in Pirates of the Carribean and you're just about there. Saronai :: remember :: |
